Welcome To Middleton
The parish of Middleton is situated about four road-miles to the south-east of
King’s Lynn. The parish is part of the Borough of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk and
falls within the UK Parliamentary constituency of North West Norfolk. It is
about forty road-miles away to Norwich, Cambridge and Peterborough. The parish
extends across 1,300 hectares (3,200 acres) of gently undulating land that
slopes down in the northwest and in the south, into the valley where the Nar
river flows. Large areas of the parish are working farms; and there are also the
quarries that extract sand, gravel or carrstone, and the large major waste
landfill pit. The majority of the residents live in Middleton village or in the
large hamlets of Fair Green and Blackborough End close by. Tower End is a small
hamlet, a short way away. The parish straddles the A47 highway, which gives
convenient access to local towns and cities. Along the road runs a frequent
express bus service east to Great Yarmouth and west to Peterborough.
